Training Guidelines

Incorrect training principles lead to a drop in race performance, a loss of interest or commonly the athlete getting injured. A set programme is the best way to develop your own learning curve, to maximise your training efforts, enjoy working towards your goals and ensure that you don't lose sight of your goals.

If you are wanting the best opportunity to race to greater heights, or to just learn how to do it right - then following a Performance Multisport Coach programme is what you need.

Tips and pointers for planning your training

Plan 4-8 months out from your big event

Make sure you plan in rest periods as well as hard periods

Remember to taper your training - you can't train all day every day

Work on a good base fitness when starting out

Include 2-3 different disciplines in some of your training sessions

If you can, train on some of the stages before the event so you know what you are in for
